Get involved… Please get involved! Since most of us are here in Damascus alone, the foreigners tend to network with each other and help out where we can. Yalla House is a perfect platform for all those adventurous travelers who like to share their experiences with other people, as well as gaining something more then just travel from being here in Syria. Yalla House has created a volunteering network for all those who have some time on their hands along with a little energy to spare (after clubbing, trekking around Syria, mate drinking and sunbathing). This varies from simply telling us about your various experiences whilst traveling around Syria to helping out on a regular basis with projects such as: • Informing those outside of Syria with some insight into this awesome country by writing about your experiences (as people out there know so little about it!)
• Help foreigners get started here in Damascus... we all know how it feels to be a newbie! • You can also help with a fantastic volunteering opportunity; ‘free for kids’ (which provides free training to Iraqi and Palestinian refugees) check www.Capoeirarab.com for more information. • Help out as an International Student Advisor • For all those with a travel bug, you can add your experiences on the Yalla House cultural page, updating events in theatres, museums, cultural centers and so on… expanding on your network in Damascus! • Lastly feel free to contribute with any new project ideas! • (Occasionally English teachers are required!) Getting involved will give you to a better insight into Syrian culture as well as provide great work experience abroad.
